It is impossible to imagine the city without the Grote Kerk Breda. Many Breda residents only feel at home when they see the church tower. The Grote Kerk Breda tells the stories of Breda and of the Netherlands – of then, now and the future.
The future of the Grote Kerk Breda was not always certain. Between 1637 and 1900, a shortage of money meant that only essential maintenance was carried out. So restoration is still sorely needed, even after previous large-scale restoration projects. The current restoration programme continues until 2027. This is how the Grote Kerk Breda is returning to its former glory. Of course, restoration and maintenance are never finished and will continue to be necessary in the future. For that, we could really use your support!
Volunteers
It is possible to support the church with money, but also with commitment. After all, a visit to the Grote Kerk Breda would not be the same without the commitment, knowledge and ability of its volunteers. They contribute to the House of Stories and to the icon of the city of Breda.
